Cam’s Coffee Co. is a mission-driven coffee company creating real employment for individuals with disabilities — and it all started with an 8-year-old who refused to wait for the world to change
THE MOMENT THAT STARTED IT ALL
In 2016, Cam was asked to leave his school because they didn’t have the support he needed.
His mom didn’t wait for the system to change. She started building something better.
What started as a pop-up coffee shop in a hair salon became something no one expected.
Because one day, Cam said:
“I want to start a business and hire people like me.”
He was eight years old.
It’s never been about the coffee.
A cup of coffee became a way to build something most people said couldn’t exist — a business that creates real jobs, real training, and real pathways for individuals with disabilities.
Over ten years, we’ve grown from a pop-up in a hair salon into a full social enterprise. But what we’re really building are opportunities that didn’t exist before us.
And we’ve never stopped.

For ten years, we’ve learned what actually works: real employment, real structure, real support, real community.
Our partnership with Kaleideum — a hands-on learning museum dedicated to growth and inclusion — gave us the space to think bigger. To create a true pipeline where individuals can gain skills, build confidence, and step into meaningful work — while being fully seen and valued.
Cam is now 17, stepping into leadership roles in the business he inspired. His journey — from a kid with an idea to a young entrepreneur running real operations — is proof of what’s possible when you stop waiting and start building.
